Burkina Faso country is a region in Africa consisting of 12 villages. Approximately 16,000 people dwell in the region of Burkina Faso's villages. This West African region is a poor and very hot country with very little rainfall.

This is in the area of Samorogouan. Cotton is a major crop here. Countries bordering Burkina Faso include Benin towards the Southeast. Cote d'Ivoire is south-west of Burkina. Dori and Djibo surround Burkina. Douentza is a political subdivision of Burkina.

Early inhabitants of Burkina were the Mossi until 1895 when the country of France took control of Burkina. This area has a beautiful history filled with culture going back to the 14th century. This area was renamed when the French took over. The name has been changed several times. Burkina was once divided into two states. Then this area was placed back into one state due to neighboring difficulties between the 1930's and 1940's with nearby Mali. President Yameogo took control 1960 when Burkina became an independent state. Due to corruption the first administration ended. Various leaders have been in control of Burkina since then. Blaise Compaore is the current president of Burkina since 1987.
